Model your own network in Catalog Studio. There is no starter catalogue for these yet.

DatumPro’s two starter catalogues are for fiber and coax plant. There is no starter catalogue for electric, gas, water or sewer. The rest of the product does not depend on one: you define your network’s feature types, fields, connection rules and checks in Catalog Studio, and crews collect against that catalogue with the same offline map, quality checks and exports.

What changes

  • A catalogue that starts clean

    A catalogue started empty carries only the built-in fields: an address group and a notes field. The pole and premises fields in the starter catalogues belong to those catalogues, not to the product, so none of them follow you into a water or gas catalogue.

  • Your feature types, fields and symbols

    Define points, lines and polygons in your own categories, with your own icons, colours and line styles. Give each the fields it must carry: text with an entry mask, numbers measured as a length, an area or a count, dates, yes/no and pick lists, required or optional, with defaults where they help.

  • Rules for what may connect

    Connection rules say which lines may end on which points and which points may be attached to which, and a connection the rules forbid cannot be drawn. The unconnected-line-end check can require every line of a tool to connect at both ends; at its strictest, a crew cannot finish a line left loose.

    Quality & automation

  • Bring what you already have

    Existing records can sit on the map as a KMZ reference layer. A drone image or scanned plan can be placed under the work by its four corners. A spreadsheet of points with latitude and longitude loads as features, and a catalogue can be created from CSV files and icons.

Starting without a starter catalogue

    Start an empty catalogue in Catalog Studio, or download its template: a zip of CSV files with example rows and a README that describes every column.

    List your feature types, fields, placements, connection rules and toolsets in the CSV files, add your icons, and create the catalogue from the zip.

    Set up quality checks and visual rules in Catalog Studio. They are not part of the file format.

    Office and crew

    Create a project on the catalogue, draw a job, and have one crew collect a trial run before the rest start.
